I will be a bit sparse on the blogging front for a few days, so here are some dieting news articles to keep you busy whilst I am away:
UK Dieters Paid £1 for £1 in Essex:
This new pilot scheme has me on the fence. On the one hand I feel it is a great incentive, on the other hand I do feel it could be dangerous for those who don't have professional guidance and may not know what they are doing. Read for more info and leave comments about how you feel about it!
A Healthy Diet in Pregnancy Makes For a Healthy Child:
I love this. A healthy diet in pregnancy should be common sense, but a lot of younger girls take eating for two literally and then fill their quota with bad calories. This is why I want to be a clinical specialist in teen pregnancy when I finish my midwifery degree, to educate on bits like this, breastfeeding etc. I think more women need to know that what you do whilst your child is in the womb can set the path for their future health. I just felt like sharing it because I feel passionate about balanced eating in pregnancy...however, I do think treats are needed too
a pregnant woman needs cake as well as the healthy eating!
And thats it, I'm going to rush off and get stressed about moving house and The Skinny Blog will be back online properly in a few days ![]()

You are being sensible....same as my daughter now 34 weeks....and, like you moving house for second time in a month....
Perhaps I should add some 'healthy eating' to my recipes that I post and the WEALTH of them for young babies.
